Lafayette College hosted the Sustainable Energy Fund’s Summer Conference, which focused on educating college students and faculty members about renewable energy production and sustainable living. 

 With over 400 in attendance and 49 colleges sending representatives from as far away as Oregon, the conference was a huge success!  TechniCom was a sponsor of this event and also provided complete audio and visual outfitting for classrooms, an outdoor trade show, and a 500-seat hall.

The 9th Annual Pennsylvania IT Security Conference was held at the Crowne Plaza in Wyomissing, PA.  This event featured a presentation by the infamous con man, Frank Abagnale, Jr., author of Catch Me If You Can. 

The 2002 movie adaptation of the book, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, and directed by Steven Spielberg, detailed Frank’s exploits from age 16 though 21.  In that time, he was able to cash $2.5 million dollars in fraudulent checks while posing as an airline pilot, a pediatrician, an attorney, and a college professor.

 After being apprehended by French police at age 21, he spent time in prison, and was released early on the condition that he aid the Federal government in future fraud prevention.  Since that time, Frank Abagnale, Jr. has worked with banks, the FBI, the insurance industry and numerous other firms to ensure the security of their organizations.
